From: ab815 Subject: MIO, etc. Date: Sun Jul 30 09:22:57 1989 How much would the 256K & 1 meg version of the MIO run me... Locally? M.O.? Also how is the MIO compared to other Ramdisks??? Are there others where you can buy ready to use by the time you recieve it which cost cheaper??? Please Help! ** Answered by JOHN SUCHY (aa271) on Mon Jun 15 03:59:02 1987 ** To start with, the AXLON Ramdiskis probably cheaper. It doesn't have the I/O ports or device number control that the MIO has. (MIO can be left on and configured as D1: to boot your computer ultra-fast if you like that idea.) Internal upgrades can be very cheap if you install them yourself, and can be used for more than just Ramdisks. The additional uses require that you learn more about your computer. As to price, your best guage is the advertising in Antic or Analog--the public Atari-oriented magazines. Loacl prices will be at least 10% higher, but the SERVICE is usually well worth the extra buck. Your Co-sysop John E. Suchy aa271 Thanks for asking.
