From: ae302 Subject: SERIAL PRINTER TO P: R Date: Sun Jul 30 09:32:17 1989 I JUST BOUGHT THE P:R: CONNECTION BY ICD. IT WORKS GREAT WITH MY PRINTER, BUT I ALSO HAVE AVAILABLE TO ME A APPLE IMAGEWRITER (FROM A MAC). THE MANUAL FOR THE P:R: MENTIONS A WAY TO CONVERT ALL PRINTING TO THE R: DEVICE. IT DOESN'T SAY HOW. IT MENTIONS A SPARTA DOS FILE CALLED SPRINT. UNFORTUNATELY I AM NOT AN OWNER OF SPARTA DOS. WHAT CAN I DO. DO YOU KNOW OF ANY PD UTILITIES THAT WILL SWITCH THE OUT PUT FROM P: TO R:? THANKS PETE ** Answered by JOHN SUCHY (aa271) on Tue Oct 13 15:03:28 1987 ** I am not familiar with any public domain program you can use, but I'm sure there are such. Check with the User group s listed elsewhere in the At5ari ari SIG for about their disk libraries. An alternative may be to use the "print- to -disk function found in most word processors. For the filename, you would then use "R:"-- even if you have to backspace to do so. You may also want to use R2: for the serial porrinter so you don't have to disconnect your modem to use theit. John E. Suchy Your Co-sysop aa271 Thanks for asking.
