Yes replacing the vidio modulator would be an easy fix if...
1) You have very good soldering skills
2) you can buy one. (not that easy to find)

I woundn't recommend trying to repair the module, unless you have a very good knowledge of electronics and communication electronics knowledge, because even though you may fix the module, You may create an interferince problem which will cause more 
problems than you wish you had.
