From: ah219@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Mr. Delmar G. Nolan, Sr.) Subject: 2 800XLS Date: Sun Feb 9 18:02:29 1992 I HAVE 2 800XL WITH STANDARD MEMORY. THE 1 XL'S KEYBOARD WON'T WORK. CAN I TAKE THE MEMORY OUT OF THIS ONE AND PUT IT IN THE ONE THAT WORKS? IF SO, HOW DO I DO IT? PLEASE, REPLY. -- ***** Answered by Michael Current, aa700: No, you can't just take the memory from one and add it to the other. Remember, Atari didn't build the 800XL to be memory-expandable. This is why there is a market for 3rd-party memory upgrades for the 800XL, such as those from Newell and Innovative Concepts. These upgrades include additional hardware besides the memory chips themselves.
