From: aa778@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Fred Horvat) Subject: Call Waiting Date: Tue Dec 15 11:29:38 1992 Hello, This is nothing new but it maybe of help to some of you. It is concerning call waiting and using your modem. As you know if you have call waiting and you are online via modem and you get a phone call it knocks you off-line. You can temporally disable call waiting by punching in *70 on touch tone or dialing 1170 on pulse type phones before dialing out. Once you hang up call waiting is automatically reactivated! What this leads me to is that you can have you communications software automatically dial these number first for you. You have to make sure you insert a pause long enough after the string so the phone has time to react. You will have to look in your communications software to see hoe to insert pauses for some it is commas or spaces. For those of you with call waiting it is worth trying out. -- Fred Horvat aa778 Your Atari Portfolio SYGOP
