From: xx004@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Atari SIG) Subject: SIO-2-PC / utility / shareware(?) Date: Tue Oct 29 20:34:15 1991 SIO-2-PC 2.12 Written by Joe Kosman, ai019 I did get version 2.12 of sio2pc up and running. The major changes of this version over 2.9 which I had (the archives had 2.5) are that you can put in a user defined delay time for the computer to printer communication and you can directly read the directories of Atari DOS 2.0 and 2.5 disks stored on your IBM system. The printer delay did not help my system. I still must print from the Atari to a disk file on the IBM and then copy this file with the /b option to the printer connected to the IBM. With this mode it works all the time and may be a reflection of a compatability problem of my 'IBM compatible' clone system. I would encourage ANYONE with an IBM system and an Atari 8-bit to seriously look into sio2pc. It works great and really soups up your Atari 8-bit system. I easily in a session use both computers- switching between each depending upon what I am doing. The part I like the best is that sio2pc had guaranteed me that I will be able to enjoy Atari 8-bit software for a long time to come. Plus, now I can invest in my IBM system and some of those investments (disks, printer) also upgrade my Atari 8-bit system at the same time. Joe
