From: aa700@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Michael Current) Subject: Omniview / hardware Date: Fri Jan 17 11:44:49 1992 Summary by John Cummins <cummins@d.cs.okstate.edu> It's been many years since I had my Omniview (and my 8bit too...) But it was an OS upgrade (I used 3 OS chips, Omniveiw, Omnimon, and the stock 800xl OS) that supported 80 columns by using a 3 pixel accross character set. The pixel grid was 4 pixels, but for white space between characters, each character itself was only 3 pixels accross. Recon they were 9 pixels tall... I forget. I used it with som dos(s) to get directory listings on one screen... and with one terminal emulator (at 1200 baud, 2400 was supported 'tho). The term emulator I used was vt 10^2 (vt ten squared) a decent vt100 emulator without any xmodem or dialer.... Well... that's all I have for ya... jc -- Michael Current, Cleveland Free-Net 8-bit Atari SIGOp -->> go atari8 <<-- The Cleveland Free-Net Atari SIG is the Central Atari Information Network Internet: currentm@carleton.edu / UUCP: ...!umn-cs!ccnfld!currentm BITNET: currentm%carleton.edu@interbit / Cleveland Free-Net: aa700
