Thanks to everyone participating in my offers. A special thanks to all the
international orders from around the world. I know some of you are still
waiting and I really appreciate your patience.

I have already received a number of inquiries as to whether I will get
approval to do yet another sale. Your messages have helped A LOT because I
was able to show how much these deals are appreciated by the online
community. For what's it's worth, my offers are not extended to any phone,
fax, snail mail or reseller orders unless they were initiated by a qualified
E-Mail transaction. In other words, these offers are truly exclusive to the
online community and no one else. Although it started as a way to clear out
badly needed space in the new warehouse, it continues to be a way to move
through product quickly with minimal cost absorbing effort.

I'm doing my best to find unique new items, although many of them have been
already found and dispensed. I'll keep looking, however, and include them as
revisions to this offer or any, if any, in the future.

I noticed that a LOT of people are enjoying volume discounts by combining
orders from families and friends. Thank you for that. Not only do you enjoy
the discounts, but we find it easier to pull orders and ship more promptly.
I also noticed that a lot of you are reposting this offer in a lot of
places. THANK YOU. Please, feel free to tell your on-line friends. In fact,
PLEASE send your friends a copy in E-Mail.

Okay, now that the intros are past, let's get into the nitty gritty...

THIS IS IMPORTANT. If you choose not to read and understand sale terms
there's a BIG chance we will reject your order and someone else may beat you
to some items you want. Please permit me to be blunt...

                        GREAT PRICES, LOUSY SERVICE

The items listed below are available at outstanding values and do NOT
include personalized phone services such as phone orders or checking on
shipments (until 15 business days have passed - longer for international
orders). Your order will be printed and entered and I will contact you ONLY
if we determine one or more items cannot be fulfilled. All items are "as-is"
and probably don't have boxes or instructions (all games have instructions
although they may be photocopies). These are sold as trade show returns,
refurbs, store returns, reclaims, employee use items, media review returns,
developer on-loan returns, etc. (Some NEW items may be mixed in for fun.)
There are NO REFUNDS and the standard 90-day warranty will not apply.... BUT
every item is guaranteed to work for a 30-day period or it will be replaced
or repaired at Atari's option. Some of the items may have slight scratches
or other small cosmetic packaging flaws. None are being sold under new
conditions. All items are in limited quantity and subject to prior sale. It
will be best to order by credit card so that we can adjust the transaction
accurately if we are unable to ship everything requested. I cannot hold
product for money orders to arrive.

Okay, enough with the lawyer stuff already! Here's how to order... Send me
an E-Mail to: 75300.1267@compuserve.com

OR FAX the information to 408/328-0909. Please include your E-Mail address
if you are faxing your order. I cannot fill any orders without a qualifying
E-Mail address. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE on these items. You may also snail
mail your order with a money order (or credit card) to:

Don's Third Big Wacky Deal for Internet Dwellers
c/o The Atari Corporation
P.O. Box 61657
Sunnyvale, CA 94089-1657

Money Orders, MasterCard or Visa accepted as valid payments. Your order MUST
include:

          [Image] Name (First and Last):
          [Image] Snail Mail (shipping) address:
          [Image] City, State, Zip, Province:
          [Image] Day telephone number:
          [Image] Night telephone number:
          [Image] Internet address (important):
[Image] Exact payment in Money Order form OR
          MasterCard/Visa number:
          [Image] Credit-card expiration date:

If you placed a MasterCard or Visa transaction with Atari in the past 120
days, we will be happy to look it up for you. Just give me an idea around
the time your last order was placed. You may also leave the credit card
number off the order and request someone to call you for it (U.S./Canada
only). Please be advised if you are difficult to reach, it can delay your
order.

Since the prices on these orders are so low, I must change our previous
shipping and handling formula a little bit. As a rule now, shipping is $5
for every $50 (or fraction thereof) of your order. in other words, a $148
order will be accessed a $15 shipping and handling charge. Please allow for
minor adjustments for unusual order requests. Foreign orders or odd lot
orders will have a modest surcharge which cannot be determined until the
order is boxed for you. Please allow for shipping costs to vary accordingly
on those also. If the amount is significant relative to the size of the
order, I will hold the order pending your approval.

So are you still with me? (By the way, all prices shown do not include
shipping/handling and applicable California taxes which apply if I am
shipping to a California address). Prices are all U.S. funds only.

One last thing, all items are first come, first serve. Asking questions
about the products will not reserve them for you. <g> Your order will be
printed and placed in sequence for the order takers to input. If we have the
product and your order is complete and your payment is accepted (approved by
the bank), we will finish the order and ship within a couple of business
days. If we cannot complete the order for any reason, the order takers will
move to the next order and I will reply in E-Mail to you for additional
feedback. Please understand, at these prices, we want to prioritize orders
we can process. If you require a great deal of service prior to your
decision to purchase, please contact your nearest retailer. Please be
advised that S&H may be adjusted. If you are ordering heavy items, expect
that S&H may reflect that.

ATTENTION DEALERS: Yes, you may take part in this offer. All terms apply the
same for everyone. No additional discounts or terms apply.

Order a minimum of one title AND provide me with the E-Mail address of a

removed when I send them E-Mail. Offer limited to one per customer and
order.

Note:
I can probably get my hands on most any title published by Atari with
exceptions to the following:

To see a complete list, visit the Lynx Page on the Atari web site. Note that
no matter how many you buy, you get the second (or third, etc.) of the same

assortments. No, I cannot guarantee what titles or that more than one
purchased system at this price will have different games.

BLUE LIGHTNING DEMO CARDS... (STILL MORE LEFT)

When Atari discovered that the chain stores we're not too good at keeping
the Lynx turned on and "playing" something in their stores, Atari
manufactured specially designed "EVERON" Lynx systems. The systems had the
on/off button shorted out so that the system would automatically come on
when the stores lights were turned on each day in the morning. (I understand
B&C Computers has some of these EVERON systems. Their number is
408/986-9960.) To accompany those systems, Atari also provided special
versions of BLUE LIGHTNING so customers could see a game in play on the Lynx
no matter when they looked at it in the glass case. I have found a limited
number of these demo cards and there are still plenty left for another
offer. They are labeled as demos and the Blue Lightning game that plays on
it is NOT interactive. No Lynx controls work with this cartridge. I can
offer them to collectors for $5 each or $3 if the order totals $25 or more.

A DIE HARD FAVORITE...

Jaguar Demo Kiosk - $150 plus $130 S&H

These are the big, 200 lb. jobbers we take to trade shows. The ones I can
sell are trade show returns and may have minor flaws (like a little sticky
tape that comes off with lighter fluid). You have to provide the monitor and
the Jaguar. The SC1435 is a perfect fit (No, I don't have any). The SC1224
works okay too, but you need to find a cable (or use ICD's CATbox <wink>). I
have SC1224's listed below. If you have seen these things, you know how much
fun it would be to own one. Perfect for bedrooms, rec rooms, the garage, or
in the lobbies of professional offices where children could be entertained.
If you haven't seen these things, then picture a cabinet that looks just
like an arcade machine. Convenient shelf for small monitor and there's room
for the Jaguar AND the CD-ROM (barely).

OKAY WE STARTED SELLING A FEW OF THESE, SO YOU MUST LIKE THE PRICE...

SC1224 Color Monitor - $18 plus $20 S&H

This monitor offers gorgeous color resolution for any ST-compatible Atari
computer. It will also serve well for the Jaguar if you get yourself a
compatible cable (I don't have the cables). At this price, you should
serious consider a back-up and buy a couple of them.

STILL AROUND FOR THOSE WHO WANT IT...

PCM124 PC Monochrome 12" - $20 plus $25 S&H

Perfect for those you you wishing to complete your Atari museum of days gone

ONE GHOST COSTUME LEFT!...

If you really want a BIG piece of Atari's 8-bit history, here's a chance to
get a unique item that I want, but don't have space to store it. This goes
back to the Pac-Man days. I have 1 ghost costume (character costume a la
Disneyland, promotional events). The good news is that we'll take only $100
for it, but the bad news is that it costs another $100 S&H to ship. If you
want it, we're talking a near refrigerator size carton, so you better have
storage space and you WON'T be able to hide this purchase from the wife
(significant other). First come, first serve, U.S. shipping destinations
ONLY.

JAGUAR...

The Jaguar is a really cool and economical way to play impressive games like
NBA JAM, MYST, DRAGON's LAIR, IRON SOLDIER, ALIEN vs. PREDATOR, TEMPEST
2000, DEFENDER 2000, MISSILE COMMAND 3D and more. You can get a refurb
Jaguar (equivalent-to-new) for only $55 through this offer. It includes one
controller, TV connections and a power supply. See Atari's Web Domain at
http://www.atari.com for a list of software available from Atari. Our Web
Site sometimes has a hidden coupon offer. If you want to know about these,
send me your E-Mail address.

Subject: Crowd Builds for MIST VIII on July 13
Date: 14 Jul 1996 21:21:13 GMT

We're expecting another outstanding crowd
-- and a full house -- here in Indianapolis
from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, July 13,
at the Mid-Indiana MIST AtariFest VIII.

In fact, we want to alert you that the house
may be truly and fully packed because
of last-minute decisions by vendors and
user groups. When our June 15 "discount date"
came and went, we had to decide to give up our
second ballroom (or risk a hefty loss). So we
are once again back in only one crowded room.

But we expect it will be real cozy -- and busy fun!

Atari Corp. has sent us a complete JAGUAR
to sweeten the pot ... along with a half-dozen
Jaguar games. All will either be given away as
door prizes or offered for sale at auction.
More door prizes are to be awarded also.

Who's coming for sure? Here is the list of those
who put checks in the mail. Others have expressed
interest and may show up -- but we are rapidly
running out of room:

  Toad Computers ICD, Inc.
  SKWare One Computer Dungeon
  Current Notes It's All Relative
  Systems for Tomorrow chroMAGIC
                                                Crawly Crypt

    Toronto Atari Federation EAUG
    SCAT LAG
    Nashville Atati User Group LACE
    ACORN Purdue AUG
    BL.A.ST. ASCII

Admission tickets are the same $3 as in the past,
and entitle the buyer to a chance at the door prizes.

See you there:

Best Western Waterfront Plaza Hotel,
US 136 (just west of I-465 and I-74) on northwest corner
of Indianapolis.

Subject: Re: Crowd Builds for MIST VIII on July 13

Hello Stu,

It is official, the World's Fastest Atari Compatible Computer, DirecT60
will be making its premier North American appearance at MIST VIII.
We will need one table along with Kent Kordes' Systems for Tomorrow.

The last two weeks have been crazy, between getting DirecT60 ready and
trying to book flights etc. I was able finally to book my flight on
Thursday, it will take me two days of travelling to get there!

I leave Edmonton on Thursday and arrive in St. Louis on Friday at 3:55pm,
unfortunately I have not been able to book a flight from St. Louis to
Indianapolis. I will have to rent a car and drive the four or five hours,
so I will be arriving late Friday night, but will be there. My return
flight leaves St. Louis on Sunday ... I will be tired after this show!

I am having T-Shirts made up with "Official Test Pilot for the World's
Fastest TOS Computer" on them. I would like to give these to the show as
door prizes, the six lucky winners will be able to actually test drive the
DirecT60 and take home the T's.

Would anyone there be willing to loan or rent us a good quality VGA
monitor? I can't carry one onto the plane...

I will have all of our product line at the show including:
  -- MagiC
  -- MagiCMac
  -- NVDI
  -- Ease
  -- Kobold
  -- HD Driver
  -- FX Card etc.

Also premiering at MIST will be:
  -- DA's Layout TC v6
  -- Outside 3.40
  -- In Touch 2
  -- Positive Image
  -- E-Copy
  -- Face Value
-- Plus a couple more surprises.

Upgrades will be available at the show, let users know that they can bring
their master disks and manuals and receive upgrades on the spot! ...

From: Stu Huffman <shuffman@ideanet.doe.state.in.us>
Subject: MIST Update ... Duplicates mail some may have received
Date: 14 Jul 1996 21:25:00 GMT

We're expecting another outstanding crowd
-- and a full house -- here in Indianapolis
from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, July 13,
at the Mid-Indiana MIST AtariFest VIII.
(That's 10 to 3 Indianapolis/Chicago time,
or 11 to 4 Cincinnati/New York time EDT).

We also want to alert you that the house
may be truly and fully packed because
of last-minute decisions by vendors and
user groups. When our June 15 "discount date"
came and went, we had to decide to give up our
second ballroom (or risk a hefty loss). So we
are once again back in only one crowded room.

But we expect it will be real cozy -- and busy but fun!

Atari Corp. has sent us a complete JAGUAR
to sweeten the pot ... along with a half-dozen
Jaguar games. All will either be given away as
door prizes or offered for sale at auction.
More door prizes are to be awarded also.

Who's coming for sure? Here is the list of those
who put checks in the mail. Others have expressed
interest and may show up -- but we are rapidly
running out of room:

Toad Computers Branch Always Software ICD, Inc.
SKWare One Computer Direct with DirecT60 Computer Dungeon
  Current Notes It's All Relative
  Systems for Tomorrow chroMAGIC
                                                Crawly Crypt

Computer Direct will introduce the DirecT60, the world's fastest
TOS machine, and Brasoft will have its new Gemulator for laptops.

User groups who are signed up include:

    Toronto Atari Federation EAUG
    SCAT LAG
    Nashville Atati User Group LACE
    ACORN Purdue AUG
    BL.A.ST. ASCII

Admission tickets are the same $3 as in the past,
and entitle the buyer to a chance at the door prizes.

See you there:

                   Best Western Waterfront Plaza Hotel,
US 136 (just west of I-465 and I-74) on northwest corner
                   of Indianapolis.

Here are a couple of personal items from popular vendors:

DAREK MIHOCKA of Branch Always Software < brasoft@halcyon.com >
told MIST he would be on hand with "Gemulator 96 and my new color
notebook PC...."

CHRIS KROWCHUCK, president of Computer Direct in Edmondton,
Alberta, checked in with this message about his new 68060 machine, the
DirecT60, and about his busy week getting ready to show at MIST:

From: chris@compdirect.comSat Jul 6 15:34:40 1996
Date: Sat, 6 Jul 1996 10:18:16 -0600

Upgrades will be available at the show, let users know that they can bring
their master disks and manuals and receive upgrades on the spot! ...

All the best,
                                       Chris J. Krowchuk

From: mike <mike@coconut.demon.co.uk>

Press release

Mike Kerslake, a magazine publisher with over fifteen years experience has
signed up Frank Charlton, ex-features editor for ST Format and Joe Connor,
ex-Reader Disk/Public Arena editor for Atari World as joint editors for a NEW
printed Atari magazine called Atari Computing.

The launch issue of Atari Computing will feature sixty A4 pages crammed with
quality editorial. We're delighted to welcome contributions from respected
and well known journalists including Graeme Rutt, Jon Ellis, Denesh Bhabuta
and Kev Beardsworth. We're delighted to announce we've signed a deal with
the two leading disk based magazines, AtariPhile and Maggie to publish
regular sections within the magazine. If you've never seen a disk magazine
before we think you'll
be amazed to find out what you've been missing!

The launch issue will be on sale at the forthcoming Atari shows so why not
attend and meet us? The shows will be held on Saturday, September 28th in
Birmingham and Sunday, September 29th in London, for more details about the
shows contact: Goodman International, Telephone: +44 (0)1782 335650.

Issue one preview

Issue one is still in the planning stage but here's just some of the articles
we're working on:

7 News and gossip put together by Graeme Rutt and Frank Charlton including
details about the Atari Computing website.
7 Software reviews including HD-Driver by Jon Ellis
7 Hardware reviews including Nemesis DIY by Simon Coward
7 PD/Shareware reviews of MagiC utilities including Start Me Up! and
     Stewart
7 Preview of MagiC v5 by Thomas Binder, Kandinsky v2.5 by Kev Beardsworth
     and Stella by Joe Connor
7 Music and MIDI primer
7 User group reports co-ordinated by Al Goold including feature on Spanish
     Atarians by Andrew Harvey
7 Atari Jaguar coverage

Remember these are a sample, not a complete list!

Background

Following the closure of Atari World earlier this year it has just been
announced ST Format, the final UK newsstand publication, has also closed.
It's the end of an era in the UK which for the first time since 1987 has no
Atari newsstand presence. The men in grey suits are telling us to move onto
other platforms but hang on a minute, let's take stock of the situation...

7 Atari machines can be purchased and repaired on a shoestring
7 Atari machines can produce superb printed output
7 Atari machines can surf the Internet and run BBSs
7 Atari machines can form the nucleus of a digital music studio
7 New software of better quality than ever before is still being released!

That doesn't sound like a dead platform! The Atari platform has been emulated
by just about every other platform, we're owners of cult machines! Have you
ever noticed ex-Atarians animatedly talking about the 'Good old days' it's a
feel good factor missing from all the current machines.

We don't need a new platform but we do need information and a printed
magazine is undoubtedly the best way to ensure we see in the new millennium!
Apart from a darn good read the other thing most of us like is some new
software to play with. The Reader Disk concept offers all readers the chance
to get their hands on the hottest new software around along with exclusive
versions not available anywhere else. We intend to offer one Reader Disk to
accompany each issue, buy it or not, the choice is yours! What we need, now
more than ever before, is your support. It's going to be tough to keep going
so we're initially planning bi-monthly releases - but this could change, it's
really up to you! Instead of wishing us luck post a cheque to reserve your
copy today!

Ordering

As we're sure you'll appreciate launching a new magazine is a risky business
requiring pinpoint budget management. Our print run will be conservative and
we don't expect to have a stock of back issues. We're not a newsstand
publication so don't bother looking in the shops. The Atari platform needs
this magazine and we need your subscription so do yourself and us a favor,
take out a subscription or order an evaluation copy today!

Fast feedback request

If you're on-line we'd like to hear from you right now! We're keen to get an
idea of demand for the mag. To reserve copies send an empty email with the
title line: KEEP and if you'd like two copies simply add the number
afterwards: KEEP 2 etc, thanks for taking part!

mail: atari_w_admin@cix.compulink.co.uk

Subscriptions

Many of you (and most of us) lost money following the Atari World debacle and
we're determined not to make the same mistake. Atari Computing subscriptions
are refundable at any time. Cancel your subscription in writing and we'll
return any outstanding credit to you, minus a deduction to cover our costs.
If you order an evaluation copy we won't cash your payment until we've
printed the magazine, simple eh?

Initially we're offering a single evaluation copy or three issue
subscriptions at the following rates inclusive of post and packing:

Magazine only 3.00 3.50 4.00
With Reader Disk 5.00 5.50 6.00

Subscription UK EUROPE USA

With Reader Disk 15.00 17.50 18.00

Payments for European and USA subscriptions must be made in a form acceptable
to us, such as cheques drawn on a UK bank or UK cash in a registered letter.
We will be looking at other ways of payment to make things easier in the
future. If you want to order a magazine and none of the above rates apply to
you, just email us and we will give you a price. Atari Computing will also
be available directly from authorised User groups and other outlets around
the world:

Article 450 of freenet.sci.comp.atari.news:
From: Stu Huffman <shuffman@ideanet.doe.state.in.us>
Subject: MIST VIII Report -- Next Year on July 26
Date: 5 Sep 1996 21:19:09 GMT

MIST AtariFest VIII is history ... another success ...
and the Mid-Indiana ST user groups are planning No. 9
for 1997.

MARK IT NOW: MIST IX will be the last Saturday
in July 1997 ... July 26.

Winner of the Jaguar door prize donated by Atari Corp.
at last Saturday's MIST 'Fest VIII was Jerry Schneiders
of Fort Thomas, Ky.

We're sorry to be so slow getting out a thank you and
a report to everyone who took part in MIST VIII, but
it has been a busy week and the list of door prize winners
will have to come later. We still will provide commercial
table user with a mailing list of attendees, too. Just ask.

Paid attendance was 204, according to figures compiled
by Charlie Sears, MIST co-chair with me. That's down
about 50 from last year, which was down from the prior
year. But it's the only opportunity for many Atari
users to shop and browse and visit with fellow users.
So, we'll continue to sponsor MIST until no one comes:

Two Atarians traveled especially from Alabama to be at
MIST VIII, and we know of others from Tennessee, Kansas
Missouri, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania as well as the
neighboring states of Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and
Kentucky.

Vendors on hand this year were:

    Toad Computers Computer Dungeon
    Computer Direct Gribnif
    Branch Always Software ICD, Inc.
    It's All Relative
    SKWare One Software Current Notes
    Systems for Tomorrow FMH Games
    Crawly Crypt chroMAGIC

No vendor, no developer, no user group suggested ending
MIST shows. In fact, most of those to whom we talked
said the day's net revenue was as great as last year or
the year earlier. Darek Mihocka said he sold more
GEMulators than ever before. Some say they don't
consider the MIST show as a source for high-end sales,
but it's productive for small-office and home/hobbyist items,
games, and used equipment. All preferred use of one room
rather than the two ballrooms at MIST last year. (We
had planned two ballrooms this year, but registration as
of June 15 were not enough to justify it so we canceled
the second room.)

Charlie and I liked it in one room, too, partly because
it was more friendly to have everyone together ... but
also because it costs several hundreds of dollars less.
The MIST group now has enough seed money to insure a
show next year -- but we hope we won't have to face this
year's dilemma created by some registration decisions at
the last minute.

Keep in touch ... see you at MIST AtariFest IX on Saturday,
July 26, 1997.
