From: xx004 (Atari SIG) Subject: Jan.15,1990 Programming Project Date: Sat Jan 20 15:53:43 1990 On: Mon, 15 Jan 90 00:24:07 EST, The Atari SIG 'Programming Project' was announced by the Atari SIGOps: This programming project is an open participating project for programmers on the 8 bit or 16 bit machines. If you don't program, you can still participate by offering suggestions and possibly beta tests to programmers. The idea is to: 1> Put more public domain or free-ware programs in the Atari community. Of course, us 8 bitters would be very happy to see this! 2> Help the Atari SIG expand its boundaries by informing Atarians on its existance (see below) 3> Aid the Revolution...There's not really any project scheduled in the revolution for this, but there are several "free" events scheduled where one can pretty much do his or her own thing...This can be one of them. Basically the whole idea is for you programmers to write original programs such as games, applications, utillities, etc. for these machines in any language! Upon completion the SIGOPS will review it. Upon passing the review, we ask that you insert an ad for the Atari SIG and the Revolution...exactly what the ad will say will be determined at a later date....a starting and ending date will also be determined later....We are currently looking for programmers at this time and people with ideas... --
