From: visitor Subject: 1030 CONTROL Date: Sun Jul 30 09:21:17 1989 QUESTION ABOUT CONTROLING THE OUTPUT OF THE 1030 MODEM... CAN THE LENGTH OF THE DATA BIT USED IN COMMUNICATING BE CONTROLED? I AM TRYING TO CONTACT THE MAINFRAME (IBM 3081) AT CSU WITH A PROGRAM CALLED VT100. THE MAIN FRAME CONECTION REQUIRES 7 DATA BITS, TWO STOP BITS AT EVEN PARITY. IS THIS POSSIBLE? PETER HALLER A VISITOR PS:BASICALLY I WANT TO KNOW IF I CAN CONTROL THIS FEATURE OF THE 1030... ** Answered by JOHN SUCHY (aa271) on Thu Jun 4 02:32:45 1987 ** You can use any R-handler to make the 1030 communicate any 300-baud way you like. What you can't do from an R-handler is make it dial in tone mode. (Study your "R:" commands, esp. the XIO ones.) Your Co-sysop John E. Suchy aa271 Thanks for asking.
