From: ad336 Subject: BAD LOAD FILE? Date: Sun Jul 30 09:20:39 1989 I downloaded a binary file from compuserve that I have been looking for and each time I try andrun the program I get the message BAD LOAD FILE. What is this and how to I correct it. It was a rather large program and Iam hoping I do not have try and downlod it again. Thanks Dan ** Answered by JOHN SUCHY (aa271) on Thu Jun 4 01:52:39 1987 ** Are you absolutely sure that it isn't a BASIC, DOC, or LISTED file? If it really is BINARY, when does it give you the error? If the error occurs immediately, the first few bytes of the file tell DOS that this is NOT a binary file even though it is. An error after the file has been trying to load probably means that the file byte count is off. Fixing the latter takes someone very skilled in machine code. Let me know, personally, if you need a more complete answer. Your Co-sysop John E. Suchy aa271 Thanks for asking.
