From: bb099@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Adam Trent Phillips) Subject: sx-212 problems Date: Sat Mar 7 20:43:51 1992 I have just bought an SX-212 1200 baud modem....but there seems to be one problem..... As I have gone through the usenet menu (alt.) I keep getting the word "OK" and then no response to input I have typed in, I am using the sx-212 version of 850 Express. *** Answered by Michael Current, aa700: Ah-ha! I know exactly what you're talking about! If you press three pluses in a row you put your modem in local command mode, where it gives the "OK" prompt. To return online to what you were doing, enter the modem command "ato". Whoever designed the Free-Net software wasn't using a Hayes-compatible modem!
