From: bd891@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Paul Allwood) Subject: 800XL UPGRADE WANTED Date: Tue Oct 6 15:01:55 1992 I AM INTERESRED IN UPGRADING MY 800XL TO THE MAX POSSIBLE. 1. WHAT WOULD THAT MAX BE. 2. WOULD THRER BE ANY ON LINE INTSTRUCTIONS FOR THE JOB? 3. HOW SCARCE ARE THE PARTS? THANX -- I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the POWER of God unto SALVATION! * Paul Allwood bd891@Cleveland.Freenet.edu **** Answered by Michael Current, aa700: 1. The largest amount of memory in an 800XL that I've heard of is the 4 Meg upgrade from Newell Industries. My American T.V. catalog lists this upgrade, minus RAM chips, for $42.50. 2. Yes! There are a number of memory upgrade instructions located here in the Atari SIG. Look in the Atari Library, on the Misc. Information board. 3. I don't know for sure, but I would expect the upgrade parts are fairly easy to obtain. Hope this helps!
