From: as195@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Joseph Pallendino) Subject: handshaking 850 interfaces? Date: Mon May 9 10:24:56 1994 I have two Atari 850 Interfaces which I would like to use to transfer info from one 8 bit computer to another 8 bit computer. I'm trying to write a telecommunication program and I want to see how the screen will look on another computer calling mine. I already have a null modem cable in which pins 3 and 4 have been switched on the 9 pin plug (male) that goes into the 850 interface port #1. This works fine for transferring from my Atari to my IBM but I wasn't sure if it would work for two 850 Interfaces. Can a direct connection between the two 850 interfaces be used or does a null modem have to be used? If you know the wiring configuration for a null modem other than the one I described above please e-mail me the connections or the name of a source where this info can be found. Thanks in advance. --
