From: as195@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Joseph Pallendino) Subject: Hanshaking two Atari 850 Interfaces Date: Wed May 18 09:23:12 1994 I've made a null modem cable by swithing pins 3 & 4 on the plug that goes into port 1 of my 850 Interface. The other end has a RS232 male plug on it. In other worsd, it is a modem cable with pins 3 & 4 switched on the 9 pin plug that goes into port 1 of the 850 interface. It works fine for Atari to IBM. Can I use a straight through cable from the RS232 plug through a cable to a 9 pin plug; then into the 2nd 850 Interface or does another type of cable have to be configured? Thanks. -- **** Answered by Michael Current, aa700: Sorry, I'm not real familiar with null modem cables. However, the Atari 8-Bit Computers FAQ List contains a new section on null modem transfers written by Russ Gilbert. I suggest you look that over; you may be able to get the information you need from there.
