From: aa700@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Michael Current) Subject: 850 Express! / communications / shareware Date: Fri May 15 18:23:51 1992 Reprinted from the Pandora BBS (614)-471-9209 ------------------------------------- 850 Express! Versions 1.0, 1.1 Terminal Program By Keith Ledbetter ------------------------------------- 850 Express! is a terminal program for all Hayes Compatible Modems. 1030 Express! is also available for all 1030 and XM-301 modems. MPP Express! is available for MPP modems. I can say right off the bat that 850 Express! is great. It is a public domain terminal program that is better than some terminal programs you can buy for about $35.00. You can download 850 Express! from many public domain boards around the country, including Compuserve. 850 Express!, when downloaded, can later be changed to AUTORUN.SYS. When it's changed, it automatically boots, while holding down the OPTION Key. When it boots, it automatically loads an Autodial file, which you create on that same program, whether than loading a seperate file, like on Amodem 7.2. You can create this file, naming it "PHONE.LST" and saving it, later you can add more lists, and boot them when you want. 850 Express! is written in Action! by OSS, so it is fast, accurate, and has no problems dialing boards, uploading, and downloading. 850 Express! is also compatible with the P:R: Connection(which I have, it works perfect), and an R:Link. Homemade interfaces have not proven themselves, for me to say they work. 850 Express! is a 32k program which should work on the 800, and all XE's and XL's. The menu contains features, such as all the DOS Options, and a second menu, containing info on sending Macros, setting the clock, and changing the default drive and the default colors. Each BBS entry has room for 3 macros, time for connection, and of course, the translation and baud rate. If you are looking for a professional-type terminal program, which is detailed, accurate, and easy to use, 850 Express! is for you. It can also be used to call Compuserve! 850 Express can be found on Public Domain boards such as Skyline (303)457-0320, and Mile High (303)431-1404, and Compuserve 1-800-848-8990. It is not to be sold, but Keith Ledbetter will accept donations. If you think Keith should continue writing software this good, then a donation may be a good idea. 850 1030, and MPP Express! are musts for modem users. You can write to him at: Keith Ledbetter 2919 Ennismore Court Richmond, VA 23224. I'm sure Keith would gladly hear out comments and take donations. ------------------------------------- Jeff Powell ------------------------------------- -- Michael Current, Cleveland Free-Net 8-bit Atari SIGOp -->> go atari8 <<-- The Cleveland Free-Net Atari SIG is the Central Atari Information Network Internet: currentm@carleton.edu / UUCP: ...!umn-cs!ccnfld!currentm BITNET: currentm%carleton.edu@{interbit} / Cleveland Free-Net: aa700
